On 30 June 2022, MIAC hosted a hybrid seminar on the topic “the Arbitral Process Step-by-Step” at the Mauritius Arbitration Suite and on Zoom.

During the seminar, Emilie Gonin (Barrister, Brick Court Chambers), Louise Elmes (Partner, Keystone Law) and Shrivan Dabee (Executive, ENSafrica) under the moderation of Anne-Sophie Jullienne (Barrister, Afralaw Chambers & Officer of the MIAC Practitioners’ Group Steering Committee) shared their experience on practical considerations of the arbitral process and the issues encountered by practitioners for which there is often no answer in the books. In particular, the session touched on the following issues: starting the arbitration, constitution of the arbitral tribunal, case management conferences and procedural orders, the presentation parties’ case as well as the hearing and post-hearing matters.

The hybrid seminar was followed by a networking cocktail.
