On 31 October 2022, MIAC and the Mauritius Arbitration Academy co-hosted an ‘In conversation with’ event at Middlesex University Mauritius, featuring Charles Nairac, Partner at White & Case LLP.
Charles Nairac is a prominent Paris-based counsel and is exclusively involved in international commercial and investment arbitrations. He regularly acts as arbitrator in various disputes, with extensive experience in construction and energy disputes.
The event was moderated by Professor Mari Jansen Van Rensburg, Campus Director of Middlesex University Mauritius, Ms. Vandana Beessoo, Law Lecturer at Middlesex University Mauritius and Ms. Clémence Assou, Registrar of MIAC. During the two-hour session, Charles Nairac answered questions from students and practitioners pertaining to his arbitration career, practice and the promotion of Mauritius as a seat and venue for international arbitration. Charles Nairac talked about the skills of an arbitrator, while giving career advice to students and young practitioners present.
