The Board of Directors of the Mauritius International Arbitration Centre (MIAC) has appointed Ms. Clémence Assou as the Registrar of MIAC. Ms. Assou will lead the MIAC Secretariat going forward.
Prior to joining MIAC, Ms. Assou worked at leading law firms on high profile commercial, investor-State and State-to-State disputes involving parties from the African continent and beyond. In addition, Ms. Assou provided assistance to several tribunals in the context of arbitral proceedings conducted in English and/or French.
Ms. Assou is a graduate of Paris II Panthéon-Assas, the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and University College London. She completed further training at The Hague Academy of International Law.
Ms. Assou also serves as Legal Counsel at the International Bureau of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA). Her appointment as Registrar of MIAC reflects the PCA’s ongoing support of the development of Mauritius as a venue for international arbitration.
