On 4 September 2018, the Board of the Mauritius International Arbitration Centre (MIAC) appointed Ms. Ashwita Ambast and Ms. Susan Kimani as the Co-Registrars of MIAC. The Co-Registrars will lead the MIAC Secretariat going forward.

Ms. Ambast is an advocate registered with the Bar Council of Delhi and is a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales. Ms. Ambast is a graduate of National Law School of India University, Bangalore, and Yale Law School. Ms. Ambast has previously practiced law at Allen & Overy, London.

Ms. Kimani is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a graduate of the University of Nairobi and the University of Cape Town. She has previously practiced law at the firm of Marende & Nyaundi Associates, Nairobi, and worked at the International Council for Commercial Arbitration.

Ms. Ambast and Ms. Kimani also serve as Legal Counsel at the International Bureau of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA). Their appointment as Co-Registrars of MIAC reflects the PCA’s ongoing support of the development of Mauritius as a venue for international arbitration.
